How to configure POP 3

READ FIRST
If you are configuring POP 3 Email for the first time please proceed to step 1. If your POP 3 account is already setup please proceed to Section 2.


   
First Time configuration

Step 1

Open Outlook express and go to the tools button at the top and then scroll down to accounts.

The next step is to choose the Mail tab at the top as seen on the diagram.

Once you choose the Mail tab click on the add button on the right and then choose Mail as seen on the step 3 diagram.

When prompted with the next window just insert your name, first and then last.

Select the first option and insert your email.

In this step insert
mail.youraddress.com in both incoming and outgoing fields.
Make sure that POP3 is selected as your incoming mail server.

Under the account name insert
Group1auto\username and then a password for the user. Leave Log on using Secure Password Authentication UNCHECKED
and then click ok.

Once you've clicked ok in step 7 a new window will come up that has a Finish button. Click on Finish.

Section 2


Setup for existing POP3 accounts

   
Step 1
Open Outlook express and go to the tools button at the top and then scroll down to accounts.

The next step is to choose the Mail tab at the top as seen on the diagram then double click on the account you would like to make changes to.

You will now see a window that looks like the image to the right. Under the General tab make sure that you have filled out the reply address field.

In this final step insert
Group1auto\username in the account name field. Also make sure the "My server requires authentication" Box is checked.

Click OK and you are now done.
